Northern Thunder was one of the founding members of the WSN--a network that linked the efforts of environmental, conservation, sporting, community, and other groups when they shared common goals. For several years, Northern Thunder functioned as the "hub organization" for the western region of WSN--one of six such regions into which the state was divided. The WSN had varied success, perhaps none more notable than its work with those who fought the proposed "Crandon Mine."
